10 tips for using Unicat4
1
Monitor and record your fuel usage for at least 2-3 months before using Unicat4, to produce meaningful background data on your vehicle or boiler. Without an accurate history, how can the performance of Unicat4 be measured. Continue to monitor fuel consumption during continuous use of Unicat4 and refer to your base data for comparison. Do not rely on your vehicle's trip computer, perform this manually. (See our page "How to measure fuel consumption." |

Unicat4 must be added in the correct proportions 1:1600 litres of fuel to every tankful. The handy pack measuring vial indicates 1 full measure for 47 litres and half of 1 full measure for 23.5 litres of fuel. Do not over dose or under dose your fuel. It's a waste of product if you over dose. Unicat4 will underperform if you under dose. |
3
Make sure that your vehicle is regularly serviced and mechanically sound. This is both essential both during the period in which your base fuel consumption and emissions data is collected and during usage. Unicat4 is a very efficient emissions control additive but it cannot perform miracles. |

Unicat4 is a continuous use additive. Do not alternate treatments between tankfuls in an attempt to measure fuel consumption with and without Unicat4. Not only will this give you spurious fuel consumption results, it will dramatically extend the conditioning period (normally 1200-1500 miles) where the sludges, varnishes and carbon deposits are being removed from your engine. |
5
Do not be alarmed by a slight increase in fuel consumption during the first few weeks of continuous use. This is a common side effect of the conditioning period. This is also a result of sludges, varnishes and carbon deposits being removed from your engine. |
6
Unicat4 will reduce emissions measured during an MOT test, but it is a continuous use product which should not be used as a pre-MOT flush and then discarded. |
7
Have an exhaust emissions test before use and after at least 1200-1500 miles of continuous use. We advise that customers cover this mileage before testing after use, as the cleaning process may lead to an increase in smoke and particulate matter during the first few weeks of use. |
8
We recommend that vehicle users start applications of Unicat4 well in advance of their annual emissions tests to avoid increased readings of particulate matter during emissions testing, which is often experienced during the conditioning period. This is a result of sludges, varnishes and carbon deposits being removed from your engine. |
9
Don't let Unicat4 change the way you drive, staying constant is they only way to compare performance before and during use. |

Always carry a piece of absorbant material (old cloth, kitchen towel etc) with your Unicat4, small product drips can be messy and stain vehicle paintwork. |
